Hunting Around Jogja

Photo hunting with my homies around Jogja, it was my first time do this. Actually, I just wanna test the Sigma tele lens before I'll take pre-wed photos on the next day. I must adapt with this lens, because I'll take an outdoor and candid photos. At the same time, my friend Bas asked me to take some photos with his analog camera (haha same with mine, but different brand and series). He wanted to test his expired ilford film. It's legendary film roll, he spent 55k rupiahs for one roll of it. When we'll go, Bas asked Welly to join with us. Yeah, finally Welly joined, he's the one who took photos with digital camera (eos 550D). I was taking photos with my Nikon F60, Bas with his old Minolta. Bas is the one who was using a fixed lens, and I'm the one who was using a tripod along photo hunt.



Initially, I wanted to took photos about human interest, but Bas asked us to try a street photography, because no one of us had a concept for this photo hunting. So, we looked for places that has a lot of people with their daily activities. Long time think about that, finally we went to Jogja city field. There, we met a lot of people, especially urban people. It's a good condition to took some candid photos, but my lens was error and my camera didn't detect the lens. Fortunately I brought my wide lens. Street photo hunting's started. I just took some photos because it was at 4 p.m. and the light's just a little. I used the ASA 200 film, I need a lot of light to get good photos. The hunting's ended at 5 p.m..

Nikon feat Sigma

I interest about photography, I'm using SLR camera Nikon F60 with Nikkor lens. The ratio of the lens is wide, it's a zoom lens (28-80mm). In the last early March, I got a job, (pre)wedding photo session. I handled the outdoor session, this session is more challenging than indoor session. I must fight against the weather and condition, especially the (sun) lights. I prepared my camera, suddenly I thought I need tele lens for this job. Finally, I borrowed tele lens from my Nikonian's friend Mamat. The size of this lens is 70-300mm. It's the old series of Sigma lens, the result of photographs captured with this lens is not as good as my Nikkor lens. No problem, the important is its function. Honestly, I love the bokeh when I took some pictures with this lens.

Rontgent

Probably, last February was my worst month in this early year. In the 1st week of last February, I had an accident in the highway. When I went back to my boardinghouse after teach my home schooling student, I drove my motorcycle along the highway. I drove behind a group of car. The car hindmost stopped suddenly, then I maneuvered my motorcycle to the left side. Unfortunately, my front wheel grazed the left rear bumper of the car.

What happen after that? My motorcycle and I fell down and spinned in the highway. That was sick. If I meet that driver again, I want to tread his head. After I fell down then pulled my motorcycle over the edge of highway, he wasn't apologize to me. He advise me. Hey man, did you have a mirror? If I'm your son, I really disappointed and shy become your son. My white motorcycle scratched and my left foot can't fold.



I just like an helpless boy. My friends (Yosi, Bebe) often sent me some foods & beverages for me because I can't go everywhere. Just sleep on the bed while held my sickness. Few weeks after that accident I went home. I checked my left foot in the hospital. When I entered the X-ray room, I felt little scared. I went to that room about 6 years ago because of the same incident. Oh My God, the tool was really big. Finally, I got the result and gave the result to internist. She said my left foot is fine and also my right foot. Hoooo, but I still felt sick. I hope it'll get well soon. Because of this, I can't enjoy skateboarding and biking fluently.

Surprise for Nadhia

Thursday night (24/2), the weather was bad. My friend Bebe asked me to accompany him went to Nadhia's house. The weather is rainy and very cold. Beside that, the locations of Nadhia's house is near the mountain Merapi. I knew that a place located in the high land, especially near the mountain, it certainly very cold and full of fog everywhere. Yeah, I knew because my house's location is like that too.

Before went to Nadhia's house, Bebe and I bought a pizza in Pizza Hut near my boardinghouse. Yeah, my boardinghouse is surrounded by food centers and food stalls. Not difficult to find food spots near my boardinghouse. Then we went to Nadhia's house with rain and cold condition. Brrrr!!!




That day wasn't Nadhia's birthday. He had already celebrated her birthday few days before we went to her house. I'm not forgot her birthday, but Bebe forgot it. Bebe felt at fault. So, Bebe, I and other friends bought an unique lamp for Nadhia. The lamp is unique, I can turn on or off the lamp just with clap my hands. The color of lamp is purple (her favorite color) and inside the lamp is our (Bebe, Troy, Binar, Tee, Bimo, Rian, Tio, I) face that printed in transparent paper. So, if the lamp is on or off, Nadhia can see our face.Sweet!!!

Watches

On the end of last February, at night and rainy, I went to accessories shop to checked out the new arrival collections there. I just found the black glam wristwatch. I tried to wear it, it looks smaller than my other watches. Different angle I look this watch, I got different nuance too. I like its simplicity. This watch has two version of size, big for man and small size for woman. I checked the stock, there are a lot. Suddenly I thought to buy all the stock of this watch. Finally, I bought all the stock of it. One for me, my mom, my sister, my dad, my sister's husband, and my nephew. My wallet became thin after bought those.

Blackstone

Very rare my friends and I go to somewhere to discuss about study or doing our tasks. We certainly go to somewhere for having fun or refreshing. Last February, we did the other activity. We flocked and did our tasks together. I thought that was impossible because my friends are talkative, so, we better to discuss about something fun than keep silent while doing the tasks.

We went to place named Blackstone. That was my first time went there. From outside, the place looks like a garage and I didn't see a stone colored black. That wasn't a problem, we just need the place, not the name or the stone. The peoples who came first are Tee, Welly, Bas, and I. Then the new comers are Nadhia, Theo, Pras. A few minutes before we went home, Alim, Dion, Binar came.


Suddenly we're became geeks. We enjoyed with our task, but not all my friends did the same. Tee created the database design, Bas tried to solve the algorithm of his application, Nadhia developed her application, Pras was facebooking, Theo played his new iPod 4G, and I modified my business process and the database design. On that time, Welly and Tee were like a cat and dog. Why? Because the lazy Welly, he said he did his tasks, whereas he just played tnternet.


In the middle of did our tasks, we ordered some foods and beverages. I was very hungry, haha Welly felt the same. We ordered Blackstone's special fried rice. I thought that food will be as special as other delicious food in restaurant. The food's came, but the taste is not as good as I thought, the taste is standard. I just like the performance of this food, uniqe. A glass of ice tea closed my activities there and then went back to boardinghouse.

Road to Magelang street

Long time no ride a bike on night. Customarily, I ride with Bebe, Ari Momo, and Yeni Noel. That's my major formation every ride a bike. That day we want to ride in rising upward routes. Flocked together in the center of Jogja city and then started to ride. We ever ride along this routes, but we gave up in the middle or routes, haha because it was too night. So, we started this ride earlier at 4 P.M.. We all ride mountain bike a.k.a MTB, so, whatever the routes, no problem.


The finish line is our campus staff's house located in Magelang street. The routes more than 10 kilometres. We ride along the highway, we ride along the edge because too dangerous to made a race with motorcycles or cars. Safe way, safe on arrived. We arrived on Mr. Topo's house at 6 P.M.. We just took a rest while laughed together. That's was our longest route ever. Mr. Topo knew that we were tired, so, he bought Nasi Goreng or rice fries for us. My stomach was full up. My friend Tee who live near Mr. Topo's house joined with us too.


The time was too night, 8 P.M. and we had something (tasks) that must be done soon. We went back to our house. The routes when we went home is like downhill. We thought it must be faster than when we started. Yeah, that was true in the early. Rain made us stopped and took a rest while wait the rain till done. Too long we waited, so we desperated to continue. Few minutes after that, Noel's rear tire blew out. Hoahhhh!!! Finally, I took over Noel's bike and Ari accompany me waited in the edge of way while Bebe accompany Noel went to her house. After that, Bebe took and ride his motorcycle to picked me and Noel's bike, then Ari went to his house. Few minutes later, we updated and connected on facebook. Oh, I felt comfort knew they arrived on their house safely.

Hokben before shopping

Shopping can make me forget my stress or something complex that make me down and give me nightmares. I dislike shopping on the weekend or early month, because the shopping center must be very crowded, I'm not comfort with that. I had an experience about scrambling some stuffs with others in the shopping center. That was inconvenience. Shopping center is a fun spot for me, not a fighting spot.


Days after weekend are boring. What I do in the tuesday, wednesday till friday? Do my tasks, countdown to final exam presentation, think and design for editorial staff, blogging, waiting BATB update, etc. That tuesday (15/2) was boring day as other tuesday. Ya, I went to shopping center to buy some boardinghouse need. Before that, suddenly my friend Bas invited my to had a lunch together in Hokben (Hoka-Hoka Bento). Our favorite japanese food place near my boardinghouse.


I went to shop in the middle of month (February), but the shopping center near my boardinghouse still crowded. No problem, I just bought snacks and beverages for stocks. I like to eat snacks while doing my assignments or as friend while watching movies. I bought crackers, wafers, nuts, vitamin-C beverages, and of course noodles (I love noodles). Every I went to the shopping center, very rare I met males there. That's why sometimes I felt weird there. Shy? Not!!! Everybody needs shopping, not just females, males need it too.

Photograph show at KPY

In last valentine's day, I wasn't buy a chocolate for someone. I went to photograph show at KPY. KPY is short of Kelas Pagi Yogyakarta (Morning Class of Yogyakarta). KPY is a community about photography. It located in Yogyakarta. The community is more looks like a class, there is a teachers or experts who teach the participants or students. They hold a photograph show routinely. On last February 14th, I was in that show.




A lot of style of photo in that show. Some photos are looks weird and abstract for me, but yeah that's the art and taste taken by the photographer. I can't judge that the photo is bad or weird, because photography is unlimited and no contraints on it. Just look around the show, I found some inspiring photos, but I thought a lot of about how they create that awesome photos. The show was very crowded, dominated by photograpy maniac, the photographers and the models. Romantic show on valentine's day.

Semesta coffee

What a bitter coffee? My friend Bas invited me to go to Semesta Cafe. That night was rainy, whereas I had a lot of task. So, I ordered a cup of coffee, the name is coffee Semesta. The portion is small, yeah it's in the cup. The extraordinary is the taste. The taste was really bitter. Damn!!! Unlikely, I must drank it so that I can awake till night. That was right!!! I started do my tasks at 10 P.M. and it's done at 2 A.M.. The tasks are done and I wanna sleep, but my eyes can't close. I watched some movies, but I still can't close my eyes or feel sleepy. That was suck, because of that very bitter coffee, I slept at 8 A.M.. That coffee is recommended for people who want to stay awake overnight till morning. Try it and you will stay awake for few hours.

Din-din at boardinghouse

Have a dinner alone outside, that's usual. I love culinary but I'm not spend my (special) time for hunt some foods around. That's boring if doing alone. A lot of food in Jogja: traditional foods, Indonesian foods, Italian foods, Japanese & chinese foods, etc. If I had a dinner outside, I often ate foreign foods, that's make my tounge so adaptive, but I'm still love Indonesian foods, especially if it made by my mom. My friend Jo came to my boardinghouse, we were very hungry, whereas we had already eaten. I thought it's time to eat local foods. Jo and I were hunt some local foods near my boardinghouse. We bought 'Martabak' (sweet & salty) and 'Nasi kucing'.




It's 'Martabak' and its couple 'Acar' or pickles. Martabak is Indonesian foods. This food spread in every city in Indonesia. The ingredients are simple, just egg(s), vegetables, flour's batter, meats (optional). It's the salty one, taste more delicious if you eat it with Acar (vegetables mixed with spices) or hot sauce.


Here we go. Nasi kucing, in english, it's Cat's rice ...LoL... It's traditional inhabitant food in Jogja, but not just in Jogja, some cities has it too. Why it's called Nasi Kucing or Cat's rice? Because the portion is a little and the side dish too. That's why the price is cheap. We ate it with salty Martabak.


The last one is sweet Martabak, It's for our dessert. The ingredients are same like salty Martabak. The differences are the kind of flour's batter and nuts that's replace the vegetables. Thick and sweet.

That's all our happiness dinner. We just spend a few money for it, but we're so satisfied. Really nice foods. If it sold abroad, it must be a new favorite food there. Yummy!!!

Documentary fiancee

It's my second experience to go to the fiancee. First time, I went to my older sister's fiance last year. Last february, I went to fiance of my friend's older sister. I came with my madness friends: Bas, Jo, Alex, Yosi. We came not as family or witness, we came as documentary. My friend Enny asked us to document the event. No briefings, we're familiar with this activity. We just prepared the tools: camera(s) & handycam plus tripod.



Start from morning till afternoon, we documented the event. Sometime we just gawk while see the event, probably we want to be the man in that fiancee. Probably we're too young, but we're growing become a real adult and start to ready become a father. I asked my friends to wears Batik in this fiance. The event's closed with took pictures and ate together in restaurant. Yeah, because the event's happened in that place.

Winning 11 mania

Playing a game, everyone love playing games. Mostly people know about PlayStation (PS), yeah!!! I play this since I studied in Junior high school. That game console is already in my boardinghouse, but I never play it alone. I must wait my friends before play it. It's so boring to play it alone. Our favorite game is winning eleven, football game. Mostly male likes football. Sometime we play from night till morning or till weak and feel sleepy. Haha, my friends and I infrequently play this game together, because we has different activities and also different spare time.

New table

Last early February, I bought a new table. Honestly, since year 2009, I want to buy this one, but I didn't find table that I want. Month by month, my room's getting full. I felt not comfortable to study, doing my works, etc. Now, my only one computer table is full with DVD's, headphone, sound systems, ups, etc. It's impossible to write or put my notebook or something in that table. Sometime I need a place to write, create a sketch or just read a book. Absolutely, if I do something that I need to work with notebook while read the manual book, I must have a bigger place to put those.



This early year is my 8th semester in my study (in university). I need more comfortable place to do my last assignment. No time for wait and search a table that suited to me, I bought a new table in carrefour. My friend Jo helped me bring it from there with motorcycle, WOW!!! It was tiring us. The table is flat and light, but it's too wide. Now, I can do a lot of activity that I can't do before because of I didn't have a table. My friends and I can do something together in this table and of course I can put my stuffs above it. The height is not proportional with my chairs, but it's portable and still suitable for me.

Cons feat Rbk

I really love to collect footwears, especially sneakers. I bought 1 sneaker from converse and 1 moccasin (but not like an indian moccasin) from reebok. I had bought the new one before I bought this footwears. I can't hold my passion to buy and collect that. Although I use that very rare, but I likes to see it. Every footwears that I bought has an unique and nice design. I always matched up my dress with my shoes before go to somewhere. So, I have many choices with my footwears. Nice performance can thrill my activities.



I bought this converse (GRIMES-OX) in Surabaya. First time I saw it, I thought I have ever seen it before. Haha my skate's friends had this one too, but different color. The sole of this shoes is unique, it's flat but it isn't full combine in the sides. The material is dominant from suede, the color of it and the sole is different. This shoes looks brighter when I see the sole. The last is the adventurer series of reebok. Long time I'm not using footwears like this. I can use this in formal & informal situation. The sole and the rubber is soft and comfort with my feet. Dominant with black, good choise. Suitable with my character.

Doger

Es doger or doger ice. I don't know, is this beverage just have in Indonesia. This beverage is sold in small stall till big food stall in mall. It's commixture from fruits, milk, ice and bread. The taste is very sweet, fresh, and cold. In my first semester of my study in University, I always go to the small stall which sell this beverage near my boardinghouse. Long time not go there, my friends (Bas, Alex, Jo) and I went to here last month. Eat some food and share stories with each others are our activities when we flock together. Unhappily, now, this small stall evicted

Sin Tjia at Lenmarc

Still in Surabaya, before went home. I dropped in Lenmarc mall to celebrate the Chinese new year. Just took pictures with the chinese new year celebration atmosphere in there. First time I came to this place, in the 1st floor, the atmosphere is so silent. It's because this mall is new, but I saw interest spots there: RC car's competition, show room of Harley Davidson community, show room of exotic auto europe car, etc.




My older sister and I found a big rabbit in the front gate of the mall. The height is about 5 meters. Rabbit is the symbol of this Chinese Year (2011 / 2555). Two big rabbits and some gold coins around them.





After that, I took some pictures in front of fake chinese building before got away. On the way to parking lot, I saw wishes trees. Kids made a wish, wrote their wish in the red card then put it in the tree. I red some wishes from them: they want a car toy, get the first rank in school, etc. I want to do the same but I'm not a kid anymore, haha. Just let it go and wish for more luck in this year.

Amazing Citraland

Finally, I went to Citraland. For me, Citraland is looks like an elite spot. There is an billion of rupiahs price houses, schools, shops & restaurants, etc. Probably, if I'm living there, I don't need to go outside the Citraland because all I need is already in there. Citraland is belong to Ciputra. He is an amazing entrepreneur. He has a lot of business in Indonesia and foreign. For peoples who live outside Citraland can use this place like a holiday place, they'll see beautiful gardens and good architectures. It located in Surabaya city, East Java, Indonesia. Peoples said, "Citraland is Singapore of Surabaya"



Yeah, I found the Singapore sculpture. That's a symbol of Singapore country. Haha, fake sculpture of Singapore. I had no need to buy an expensive ticket to go to Singapore, I can took a picture with that sculpture just in my country. The most interesting with this place for me is the layout of the place, really nice, I felt like in foreign. After that, I dropped in Ciputra University, that was awesome. Although the university is looks like an apartment, but from outside, it looks like a high class university. A lot of facility in there. Honestly, I hate to live in there, because it can make me become an anti social human, but actually, peoples are social creatures.

BNS

There is a place in Malang, East Java, INA, that's cold and harmonious. That place is Batu. In Indonesia, Batu is well known because of the apple production. This apple is fruit, not a technology like iPad or iPhone. I was there last end January with my older sister and others. We weren't come to bought or ate some apples, We were go to BNS. BNS is short of Batu Night Square, that was my first time in there. Usually, I came to Malang just for go to the beach, there are a lot of beatiful beach.

I went to BNS after my grandmom's died 1 day before. Just to forget about the sadness story. I didn't know that this place start open at 5.00 PM. Yeah till 12.00 AM, according to the name, we can't see a night in the afternoon. The place is so romantic if come with couple or probably family. Inside of BNS is full of lamps. The playgrounds, the games, the gardens. I like the lampion garden in there. In that garden, I walked around, saw sculptures made from lampion or lantern, miniature of eiffel tower, romantic pool with lamps around it and in the middle of it.





The situation made me forget about the sadness of one day before. When I went there, the time was countdown to chinese new year celebrations. So, a lot of chinese lanterns are spreading around BNS. Some time, I want to go there with my couple or my homies.

ride (or photo) around jogja

My friends: Ari Momo, Yeni, Bebe and I still weak after road a day before. No problem, we ride and have fun together. We'll feel tired if we do something with not fun. No tired, just fun. Same like a day before, we road with the same bike too. The differences is we had a new member and we started the journey in the afternoon, about 3 or 4 P.M.. The new member is Tee, she is my friend in campus, we're studying in the same grade and major. She's tomboy like Yeni hohoho. So, I felt like ride with my boy friends. No racism & discrimination. Just go!

I thought that day we'll ride our bike, what was happen. I felt like in photo session. Started from we flocked together, we took pictures together. Everywhere we passed, we must took some pictures. Tee & Yeni are likes to did that, maybe because they're participating a photography community. We just road around Jogja city, when we arrived in city field, we took pictures again. Hoahhh it wasn't boring. We spent time for took some pictures more than ride a bike, it was fun!!! We did a lot of madness pose in front of peoples around, LoL.

We forgot about the time. We ride until evening, about 7 P.M.. Then, we continued our journey, we walked to city field to enjoy the atmosphere there. There is Sekaten that held untill the middle of February. Sekaten is ceremony to celebrate Islamic new year, but it wasn't the ceremony. It was the traditional market that held before the main ceremony. Enjoyed the night at Sekaten, bought some traditional food, laugh out loud, and slept like a pig after that.

half way

Now, bike fever sweeping Jogja and other cities in Indonesia. Very long time I'm not riding a bike. I was starting my bike history last January (2011). Honestly, I wasn't interest to did it, because I don't have a bike in here. My friend, Yeni, she lend me her bike. The bike's old, but it didn't really matter, because we just road in the flat ground, not for downhill. The bike's used just for daily use, but it's comfortable for ride around the city.

Honesty, we'll ride in tomorrow, but I thought I must warm up. Yeah, Ari momo, Yeni & Bebe were accompany me road a bike around Jogja. It's unusual, we started in the evening. Ya!! Night biking. We had no routes that evening. So, we just ride around Ari's house. Suddenly, Bebe asked us to road to my bureau chief' house in my campus. We road with our full strength, but in the middle of journey the problem came up. The Yeni bike's gear injured and needed a service. Finally, we aren't continued the journey, because we'll ride again in tomorrow.

Before we went back to our house, we ate together in a food spot that located along the highway. We ate batagor, batagor is bakso & tahu goreng. In english batagor is fried tofu & meatball. The route is uphill, we need more energy before went home. Save more energy for tomorrow. YAY!!!

no skate,no movies,no bike,just shopping

That day was boring day. Since woke up in the morning, I just thought about my plans today. Plans about skateboard at afternoon and watch movies at night. Skateboard kit checked, but I had a problem with the bearrings. So, I cancelled the plan for go skateboard. After that, time clean the boardinghouse and took a bath. Before did it all, I sent SMS to my friends, I invited them to road a bike around the city. The boardinghouse and my body were clean, Yeah!!! Then I called my friends to confirm about watching movies, they gave me positive replies that means the program will be held.

About 5 P.M., my bike friends called me, they said "I can't go, I have an urgent program, I forgot to tell you about it, blablablablabla"... I'm very disappointed heard that. Just go just go, I thought, I have one more program today, watch movies. Same like my friends before, my friends who wanna watch movies with me said the same. Damn!!! I'm so angry that afternoon. Sick with it, so stressed.

I have an idea to kick my stress. It's very efective to forget about something that makes me stress. No skate,no movies,no bike, just shopping. I bought something for my monthly need. Special for this, I bought more snack hohoho. Coke, wafer, breads, cookies, noodles, etc. Shop till you fresh, don't shop till you drop.
